Press Release: tenfour Selected as the 2010 MOBI Awards Winner for Best Location Based App  

PORTLAND, OR/NEW YORK, NY– On September 13th, 2010 tenfour, a fully integrated marketing agency based in Portland, Oregon was named by DM2 Media / DIGIDAY as the 2010 MOBI AWARDS winner for Best Mobile Location-Based App. The award-winning submission centered on innovative strategy and design for Air New Zealand’s “Spot-On Travel App Series” created by tenfour in partnership with Small Society. Nominations at the 2010 MOBI AWARDS were open to all global advertising, media and marketing agencies and covered a variety of creative categories.

“The tenfour creative studio is honored to be named by its peers as the winner of this prestigious award,” stated Mark Dagg, Partner and SVP of Creative. “To win for developing this cutting-edge campaign is a tribute to tenfour’s continued efforts to create industry-leading experiences for its partners.”

The “Spot-On Travel App Series” was part of the “Make Flying Fun Again” campaign that was created to increase Air New Zealand’s brand presence and ticket sales in North America. tenfour developed a number of creative social media strategy campaigns designed to: increase brand awareness, develop unique consumer engagement experiences that could be shared across their personal social media network, and highlight the airline’s destination offerings as well as its exceptional concierge services.

“A vital component to the overall success of the campaign and ultimately winning this award was the readiness of Air New Zealand to entrust tenfour to extend the campaign beyond traditional media,” explained Rich Connor, Partner and SVP of Accounts. “The ‘Make Flying Fun Again’ campaign took traditional media and wove into it a highly effective social media strategy that ultimately lead to a successful campaign for Air New Zealand.”

“The Make Flying Fun Again” campaign is also a finalist for the 2010 IAB MIXX Awards on September 28, 2010 in New York City. The campaign is competing in the following category: Campaign – Brand Awareness and Positioning. Other finalists in this category are: AMC & Deep Focus, Inc: Mad Men Yourself / HBO & BBDO New York: HBO Imagine Integrated Campaign / Kimberly-Clark & Organic, Inc: U by Kotex.
